The main focus of the Application Seminar for operation and process control of agitator bead mills is on the transition from laboratory scale to the production. It is our goal to impart the theoretical background and the function of agitator bead mills and to discuss the influence of important operating parameters on the grinding process as well as to show different procedures. The explained influences are demonstrated during practical tests on the laboratory mill LabStar. The topics characterization of particle sizes and stabilization of suspensions (dispersion of finest particles down to the nanometer range) are dealt with as well.
